10.6 Teacher Assignments & Transfers (page 39)

  • NEW- Know your assignment: You should receive written notice of your school, grade level, and/or subject assignment at least 10 days before the last day of school (used to be 5 days).
  • If your assignment changes late: You may transfer to an open position you’re qualified for, with approval from the receiving principal.
  • NEW- $300 Building Transfer Payment: If you transfer to another building, voluntarily or involuntarily, you will receive a one-time $300 payment to cover job-related transfer expenses.
  • NEW- Applying for an internal position? If you meet the minimum qualifications, you are guaranteed an interview and must be notified of the outcome.
  • Involuntary transfer? You may request a meeting to discuss the reason.
  • Changes after August 1: You may resign without penalty with two weeks’ written notice.

16.4 Support Involuntary Transfers (page 50)

  • You must be notified: If you are involuntarily transferred, the district must notify you as soon as practicable.
  • Want to know why? You may request a meeting with Human Resources to discuss the reason for the transfer.
  • Right to return: If your original position becomes available, you will be returned to that position within the timeframe outlined in the contract.
