  1. How is the district determining the validity of doctor’s notes to allow staff to remain remote and work due to health issues?
    Answer: Consulting with attorneys and will get in contact with individuals to discuss the
    situation.
  2. How will the district handle staff COVID days off? Will staff be expected to use their sick days even though they are being forced to return to the buildings? (Keep in mind that one vaccine is only half effective and there is not a vaccine that guarantees full protection from the virus). Will staff be able to use the extended FFCRA benefits? FFCRA is not in place federally anymore.
    Answer: If a staff member has been in ‘close contact’ with a student due to job duties while
    working and placed on quarantine- the district will absorb the days.
  3. How can staff protect their families that have not been vaccinated yet? The vaccine does not stop the transmission of the virus, it only helps eliminate the symptoms. This means that we can be exposed at work and bring home the virus to family members.
    Answer: This is the case for all 1-b employees.
  4. Can we stay home for conferences and institute day?
    Answer: Yes, will be optional on-site
  5. Can we get a list of students who are coming back to in person learning?
    Answer: This is to be released 2/17/2021 afternoon
  6. Will they delay in person learning until we get the second vaccine?
    Answer: No, nor will we be able to delay for those who did not get scheduled.
  7. Who and when will we get appointments for the second vaccine?
    Answer: VNA will be sending these out soon, please schedule them the same time slots as
    first dose.
  8. Why aren’t office staff also given the option to work from home like the core teachers?
    Answer: Nature of work does not allow effective completion of job duties.
  9. We started a few days earlier than other years and the teacher’s start date kept being pushed back. The school year end date doesn’t reflect that. Why?
    Answer: The district utilized remote learning planning days that were offered by the State to
    help plan for pandemic.
  10. Why can’t office staff have the option to work from home after virtual classes end at 2 pm?
    Answer: Nature of work does not allow effective completion of job duties.
  11. If Fridays are used to deep clean, why is office staff still expected to come in and not work from home?
    Answer: Because the schools cannot be ‘closed’ per ISBE.
  12. Do you still have to use sick days if you are being told to quarantine but can still work from home and not feeling “sick”?
    Answer: Yes, for any days that the position is required to be present per the schedule.
